Aiko Wada grew up in Tokyo and pursued a degree in interior design at Musashino Junior Art College in Tokyo, Craft Design / Wooden Furniture in 1983.

Other than design basics and space planning skill, she also studied and learnt the furniture design and building the furniture in wood.This furniture design course teaches the traditional methods of building furniture without iron nails.

After she graduated, she moved to New York in 1984 to work for Hashimoto/Platz Design Inc. As her career expanded, she also worked at Sam Lopata, Inc. in 1987, who was a renowned restaurant and club designer in NY in the 80’s.

She worked at Hashimoto & Partners Inc. in 1990~1992, and 1997~2000, as a head designer of creative team.

Founded Waddy Studio with Hideaki Wada (Waddy) in 1991. She return to Waddy Studio in 2000.
